Our Solar Energy Consultants are highly qualified and skilled tacticians able to navigate and guide homeowners through the solar design process. You will be pinpointing and defining all of the pain points within the utility districts which we operate to help make going solar and adding battery storage (backup) an easy decision.

This year alone Florida utilities have requested rate increases of over 18 percent for a product and service that has not improved, made their customer’s lives any better, and continues to avoid solving the problem of pollution related climate change.

Floridians are paying more and getting less under the current system.

Traditionally this role has been a 100% in-the-home seller and product demonstrator role. This has typically required frequent travel, including tens of thousands of windshield miles logged, required within the territory or region and to a local office as needed. However, thanks to COVID-19, we have successfully shifted nearly all sales consultations to virtual presentations using technology like Zoom. This technology benefit has allowed our team members to expand their territory further, be more efficient, spend more time helping customers and less time in traffic.

There is still some targeted travel required within the Territory, but your wasted windshield time has been cut by nearly 100%. Our sales team no longer finds themselves standing on the porch and speaking to a video doorbell. If you have been in sales, you know this story too well.

What this means for you is nearly 100% of your time is spent working with prospects or on profitable selling activities (and updating salesforce) all without the added pressure of your gas gauge or tire treads.   • Sell Every Day
  • Meet minimum required sales targets as set by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Try to win every pre-set company generated leads/appointments
  • Source and develop self-generated leads and appointments.
  • Conduct in-the-home and virtual sales presentations for potential customers
  • Develop effective self-generation sales strategies
  • Evaluate customers’ knowledge and needs, building productive long lasting relationships
  • Accurately disposition and report on outcomes via our CRM tool
  • Ensure a clean transition of post-sale activity to other teams by delivering complete customer information
  • Provide an industry leading customer sales experience from initial contact through installation and after the customer’s system is turned on
  • Manage the pipeline of activity from prospect to install by following up with all leads and consultations
  • Properly prepare for appointments by building proposals, preparing for objections, and calling customers to confirm appointments.
  • Attend required trainings, and follow Vinyasun Sales processes
  • Maintain current knowledge of the latest Vinyasun and industry developments by attending sales meetings, sales events, trainings, and industry events.
  • Engage in local proactive lead generation activities as defined by the metro-market.


  • Be a rainmaker, close them to win, or close them to move on – Proven track record of sales and/or lead generation experience
  • In-the-home and/or solar sales experience preferred.
  • Must have high speed home internet broadband access; 35 kbps bandwidth per workstation.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and CRM tools, Salesforce preferred
  • Must be able to spend approximately 50% of work time traveling within your local market, although the time spent travelling may be far less as we continue to evaluate our virtual selling model and provide flexibility to our consultants.
  • Must be available to work evenings/nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Ability to communicate and partner cross-functionally to address customer needs
  • Ability to drive a vehicle during the normal course of business
  • Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This position traditionally involves getting in and out of a car multiple times per day and traveling to and from customer locations. You may need to stand for an extended period of time while consulting with customers or while walking around their yard evaluating their site. Their yard may be an uneven or rocky terrain. You must also be comfortable looking at small boxes of people inside of a computer monitor for multiple hours per day.

Work-From-Anywhere 🌴

Your work-from-anywhere office may include the customers home, your home, or a worksite location within your local territory. Working from home requires a reasonably private and professional setup. Specifically a desk. The occasional interruption from a pet, child, or partner is understandable. Keeping in mind you are still responsible for servicing customers within your territory.

While this role is evolving and may involve less time in the car and more time at home in a virtual environment, this position is full time and driving is a required part of the role.

Currently, our consultants are working from home, or from a worksite location 100% of the time and conducting only virtual appointments. Travel to jobsites during project installation is still required. We hope to move to a split model of “in home” and “virtual” as it becomes safe for our employees and customers.

Compensation and Benefits

  • An extremely competitive base compensation of $35,000 – $40,000
  • 4 weeks paid training with the best in the business.
  • Your compensation is 100% commission applied as a draw or advance against your commission.
